Simple Steps Will Make You Healthier

We can do more to prevent heart disease and extend lives if better attention is paid to battling this disease, which is the number 1 killer of both men and women.

1. Continue the fight against smoking. Banning smoking in public spaces is among the best moves any state has ever made to improve public health. States that have banned smoking on a wide scale have already seen improvement in heart attack trends in lower health insurance premiums.

2. Attack childhood obesity. Many communities have added bike and walking paths amongst other recreational amenities. Schools can replace sugar heavy lunches and drinks with more natural foods. School’s can also include more opportunities for kids to be physically active.
